Before you start, grab:
- A metal tape measure. Fabric ones stretch and give wrong numbers.
- Pen and paper. Or keep this page open and type as you go.
- About 5 minutes. Take your time, it's worth it.
- Access to your window from inside. And something to stand on if it's tall.
Which units do you prefer?
You can switch anytime with the toggle at the top.
Step 1: Measure the recess depth
We check the depth first so Aether has room to fit. Minimum required: 3 cm (1.18 in).
Any obstructions inside the recess?
Handles, latches, locks or cranks. It doesn't matter — Aether works with both.
Step 2: Measure the width, three times
Hold the tape horizontally inside the recess: once at the top, once in the middle, once at the bottom.
ⓘ Include the mm — every millimetre matters for a snug fit.
Step 3: Measure the height, three times
Hold the tape vertically inside the recess: left, centre and right.
ⓘ Include the mm — every millimetre matters for a snug fit.

What if my three measurements differ?+
That's normal — windows are rarely perfectly square. Always use the smallest; the frame seals the rest.
My recess is shallower than 3 cm. Now what?+

Should I round my measurements?+
No — enter them exactly as measured, to the millimetre. We take care of the fitting tolerances.
